Ballet Heart Engraving with the Cricut Maker 5
I love combining ballet and crafting, so I decided to make a ballet heart engraving with my Cricut Maker 5. This is a simple Cricut engraving project that can be turned into a cute gift for a dancer, ballet student, teacher, or anyone who loves dance.
What I Used

- Cricut Maker 5
- Heart-shaped blank
- Cricut engraving tool
- StrongGrip mat
- Cricut Design Space
- Ballet dancer design
- Painter’s tape
Quick How-To Notes
Choose a ballet design:
I used a simple ballet dancer design that would fit nicely inside the heart. A silhouette of a dancer, ballet shoes, pointe shoes, or the word Ballet would also work.
Create the design in Cricut Design Space:
Upload or create your ballet heart design and size it to fit the blank. Keep the design simple so the engraved details are easy to see.
Prepare the heart:
Place the heart-shaped blank securely on the StrongGrip mat. Painter’s tape can help hold the blank in place.
Engrave with the Cricut Maker 5:
Choose the appropriate material setting and insert the Cricut engraving tool. Load the mat and let the Maker 5 engrave the ballet design.
Finish the ballet heart:
When the engraving is finished, carefully remove the heart from the mat. Clean away any dust or small pieces left from engraving.
Ballet Gift Idea
A ballet heart engraving can be used as a keychain, ornament, necklace pendant, bag charm, or small personalized dance gift. You could also add a dancer’s name, ballet school, favorite ballet, or the words “Dance with Your Heart.”
This is a fun Cricut Maker 5 ballet project and a simple way to turn a small heart into a meaningful piece of ballet-inspired art.
