Ballet Battement Tendu
Slide your foot along the floor from the 5th position until fully stretched in an open position (2nd or 4th). Then slide it back to the original position. The order of 4th (5th) 2nd (5th) 4th is known as en croix. If your foot remains in the open position it is known as a dé gagé. The movement can also be started from ist or 3rd position.
Battement Glisse or Degage This movement is similar to a battement tendu, but it is done more sharply and your foot should leave the floor.
